I can’t believe the first quarter is already over for grade 6. How quickly that time went! This post is a celebration of all the amazing things they achieved in such a short space of time. In 7 weeks they painted landscapes, photographed and sketched in the garden, made clay plaques and created stunning digital art works which were layered in relief.
STUNNING G6 “PHOTOSCULPTURES”
INSPIRED BY BRUNO DEL ZOU
I wrote earlier about this PROCESS and the iPad apps used.
I wanted the students to learn 7 iPad apps, which they could manipulate and layer. They also were practicing iPad painting and photography skills. We used Pages to create an A3 template where their favourite images were added and printed.
These were then stuck onto foamboard and layered using foam and 3D mounting tape to create the relief. We discussed the importance of movement, emphasis, contrast and size. Here are their awesome results:
LIFECARDS TO THE PARENTS
We ended the quarter on Friday, by writing a beautiful card to the parents. This was then emailed to them. The students had to choose their four favourite art works, and write about what they have learnt, and what they would like to learn next year.
It was also an opportunity to advertise the end of year art show and this blog.
Here are a couple of samples:
Goodbye Grade 6, thank you so much for your enthusiasm, engagement and laughter.
See you next year- I hope!
