In Grade 6 we have been studying portraiture, in particular Expressionist portraits. The students learnt about the meaning of colour and its connection to mood. They chose a dominant cool or warm colour scheme and experimented with oil pastel blending. Some students chose markers instead.
The background had to use contrasting tints and was painted with a wide variety of paint techniques. Once the paintings were complete the early birds learnt how to use Percolator, FlipOMatc, WordFoto and SuperImpose. Unbeknown to them during the following class they became the teachers! What an awesome job they did.
Now lets see what they created once they had learnt how to use the apps. They could do anything they wanted but had to show evidence of all 4 apps and their face had to be slightly visible along with their personality traits.
Just gorgeous. Well done grade 6!
