Tiny Planet Painting G8

Since I have my students often use Pic Collage to get resources and document their development I decided to make the task sheets visual.

The students began by brainstorming what home means to them and found a quote which resonated with them. Then they were required to take a panoramic photo at home this was then swirled on the Tiny Planets app.

After the background was painted the students then traced the large shapes onto their canvas and began painting. They have been learning the importance of painting from large to small and easy ways to simplify a painting using a variety of paint techniques.

These are some of the progress paintings. Aren’t they looking awesome especially as Abstract pieces? Once the main shapes and details have been completed then the students will collage their photos from around home. The photos had to represent what home means to them. They had to consider their daily lives and what makes a place special and comfortable. Hearing the student stories behind the photos has been the hi-light for me so far. If time permits they will end with their quote if they are running out of time then we will photograph the painting and add the quote with Type drawing or a poetry app.
