Animal Eyes in Grade 7

The animal eyes are now complete and look spectacular! I am so proud of all my students as they have successfully learnt how to choose an appropriate photo, how to write their own rubric and most importantly how to: grid, tone and create texture with chalk pastels.

Once the students completed this task they used the app Visual Poetry to create their reflection which was then uploaded into Tellagami and dropped into iMovie. They were meant to add “pizazz and personality” to their voice. This is one area that could be improved next time for some students.

Now that the work has been reflected upon it is time to take it to another level. So…the final step for this task was to use MegaPhoto, PlanetGlobe and FlipOMatic to turn our animal eye into an Abstract artwork. The students gained an understanding of Abstraction and worked at creating their own versions.

These are being printed out and will be turned into a paper relief sculpture. The papers need to be folded, torn, rolled, twisted and manipulated as many ways as possible, here is an example of a demonstration in progress.
