What Vietnam Means to Me Grade 8

Currently the grade 8 students are doing a fantastic job painting on the conical Vietnamese hats. There theme was “What Vietnam Means To Me”. They began with brainstorming, sketching and made mini hats to check their designs on a cone. They are super fun to paint even though the bumpy surface is slightly challenging but anything is possible. Some students chose a very detailed design while others were simplistic yet very effective. I can’t wait to see them all complete and on display.

The second part of this task will be to create a canvas painting working from a digital artwork created on the iPads incorporating Google Earth.

The students will design an abstract work based on an aerial view of their home country using the apps: Art Rage and SketchbookX, what they do with it next will be a surprise!

This is such a great idea for the hats. Must give it a go! Beautiful creations – well done to all the students.
