Grade 6 students have successfully completed their “I am a Dreamer” paintings. This was meant to be a 2 lesson project but we extended it a little because they were producing such amazing work. I have done this project before and really loved it but this time I had the students incorporate 3 words which describe themselves. This was then combined with their favourite shapes, colours, sports, and animals (basically anything from their brainstorming list). We discussed how to break the page up in an interesting way, how to balance colours, mix media and the importance of their pose to make the painting work. They should be very proud of their work. I will add the last few paintings next week when the students have framed them.
