As my students complete their work we are adding them to Artsonia by scanning a QR code which allows them access to their own personal galleries. We have also started adding artist statements. The students are now responsible for uploading, cropping and writing about their work. Here is a sample of what has been said:
“After three weeks of work, this is my final result. I am very proud of my work because I worked hard to complete it. It is a two-point perspective street view. What I really like about it is the detail and realism. If I could change something, I would change the color scheme in the city, and I would make the toning more realistic. After working on this project for so long, I understood how important every detail is in art, and I also learned how we view things from different perspectives. After doing a lot of exercises, I began working on my project. My first layer was in pencil, my second was in marker, and my third was the color. It took me approximately 2-3 weeks to complete it. I am very proud of my work!” Stephanie G8
“My favorite part is the little bit of leaves covering the trees, it makes it look like the leaves are moving over the tree. My least favorite is the little parts I swooshed the cardboard a bit too much and made a straight line, instead of short powerful lines. The inspiration to me was Ablade Glover’s trees and the colors that pop out here and there. I would change the swooshing of the paint, making it not look like leaves. What I did was first practice and then start slowly so that I could stop and change my technique. I really enjoyed this a lot!” Tonya G6
