Matisse Leaves with Jennifer Goss

The second project with Jennifer was Matisse inspired leaves. The students had to divide their page into a geometric design and paint it with monochrome colours (1 colour plus white and black). Then they used a photo resource to draw their leaves. These were cut out of coloured paper which needed to be the complimentary colour to the background. This was a great revision for my students because they did monochrome painting last year and studied the colour wheel. They would also look amazing joined together like a big quilt. Maybe I will do that for the art exhibition at Alliance Francaise.
