Grade 6 had a fantastic class today. They began by sticking their practise pieces together to create a larger art work. We then used Scanlife to scan a QR code linking to Artsonia. This code led the students to their names. They had to click on their name, upload, crop and edit a photo of their work and then write an artist statement. This worked brilliantly. Some students need to do a little more practise with writing about their art but for a first time I was very impressed with how smooth the process was. This was the first time I have had students upload their own work. Usually I do it all.
When you view their gallery you just need to click on their image and you will see the artist statement. In this section you can become a “fan’, write a comment to them, share it on Facebook or even purchase their work on products like iphone cases and mugs. Just in time to give your grandparents a gorgeous Christmas gift!
Once that was complete we were then ready to paint our final market scene which is pictured above in the gallery. Some students were very excited to try Glover style trees so they used up their paint by creating these stunning trees. That is actually the next task when our market is complete.
