Grade 7 Charcoal Trees

The grade 7 students are preparing for a special artist visit with Jennifer Goss. She will be here for their next class and will be teaching this lucky class until the Christmas break.

DSCN0225To prepare for her tree unit we went outside equipped with paper, board and charcoal. The perfect area for drawing our trees was the ECC playground. The students began with a blind contour drawing, then they focused on negative shapes followed by their final detailed practise drawing. For the last 15mins of class they created their final drawings pictured above. We are all very excited to be meeting Jennifer so soon.

Here is a link to Jennifer’s beautiful paintings which has inspired this class: http://covenantgallery.webs.com/apps/photos/album?albumid=10103859
