We Now Have More Beautiful Chandeliers

Grade 7 spent two classes creating these gorgeous chandeliers. The first class was dedicated to preparing the bottles by removing the labels, chopping off the bottoms and painting them in one colour plus white. When they were dry Tobias and Stephanie varnished all the bottles for us ready for the next class.

During the second class they had to cut and wire the bottles together to create a layered chandelier effect. We have hung one from a tree near Mr Smith’s office, two in the library and one in the elementary library. The elementary students are helping us too by painting the bottles during lunch. It is going to be quite a community effort!

The goal is to have as many as we can hanging from the trees around LCS for the GISS conference in Feb 2014. I can’t wait to see it. 2 lessons per class should get at least 20 complete.

IF YOU HAVE ANY PLASTIC BOTTLES TO DONATE PLEASE SEND THEM TO ROOM 42.
