I am a Dreamer-Grade 6

This was a brilliant introduction to the art room for my new grade 6 class. I got this idea from Pinterest.

The students had to list their favourite colours, shapes, symbols and then we did a 10min doodle whilst listening to music. The idea was; “What am I thinking about when I am not consciously thinking?” We discussed how to use oil pastels and paints. The students learnt how to link shapes, balance colours and most importantly the importance of POSE in portraiture. This was a brilliant introductory task to get to know the students and see what they are capable of in a relaxed environment. Well done grade 6 what an awesome start to the year!
