Hi everyone welcome back to Mrs Jardin’s ART room. I hope you had a wonderful summer and are all refreshed and ready to be inspired by the wonderful tasks I have planned for you. I had a fabulous break traveling with my husband to UK, Ireland, Paris, Bulgaria, Greece and Milan. I certainly saw some incredible art which I am really looking forward to sharing in class.
We have just had our first week back with students so it is that time for DWB cover designs. Here are the first ones completed for this year by my grade 6 class. They were asked to use stacked lettering which needed to stand out by creating contrast. The backgrounds, patterns and shapes were entirely up to the students. Today we discussed how these covers might be assessed. The students had to tell me what they thought was important. They agreed on “creativity, the lettering is clear to read, the letters are stacked, effort and presentation” I think they are spot on. Well done grade 6 what a great start. 🙂
