I have a new class of 9/10 students who are doing a quarter of painting with me. My goal is to build up their confidence with manipulating paint and understanding colour and contrast. Their theme will be based on a favourite city they have been to.
Their first class was a very fun hands on paint knife and cardboard one point street scene. This allowed the students to explore colour, texture, perspective and forced them to loosen up. Some of these images were their first ever attempts. The others are their second. What a difference I saw in the second lesson! The knife was being manipulated in a variety of ways.
I am so excited by their results that I am now seriously looking forward to this quarter. It is going to be FUN. I hope grade 9/10 you agree with me.
