My new class of grade 6 students are studying the works of Chuck Close. They have just begun to add colour to their portraits. They already look amazing. Due to the limited time they have in art I have been trying to cram as much as I can to build up their skills so they are learning how to draw portraits, tone an eye and mouth and working with a variety of colour combinations plus create their major piece inspired by Chuck Close and the Adinkra symbols of Ghana. It has been a busy couple of weeks but we are starting to get there. Yeah grade 6 what a great start. I can’t wait to see them all finished.
