Grade 6 Continue to develop thier African Figures

I love how they are really capturing the movement of the figures. You can also see what the students see daily here in Ghana. At the beginning of the class we looked at their first paintings and discussed how we could improve. They learnt about the “s” “8” and triangle body shapes often used by contemporary artists plus body length vs head size. A real body should be 6-7 head lengths but a stylized figure from African art could be 7-10 head lengths. Some of the students really took this into consideration when they created their final figures. There was a huge improvement. Well done grade 6!
