Grade 6 Students are Learning About Ghana

As this is the last unit for the trimester I thought I’d combine as many skills as I possibly could (in 6 weeks) whilst learning about the culture we live in.

So the students have been studying the meanings and purpose behind the Adinkra symbols. They chose their favourite design and created  lino prints in a variety of colours. Now they are learning how to paint African figures as seen in contemporary art here in Ghana. These cute figures were painted with a knife and brushes.

The final product will involve acrylic blending techniques and collage skills. I can’t wait to see it all come together. Brilliant work grade 6.
