The Memory Project with Grade 8

Today three art students went to the Beacon House Orphanage to photograph and meet the adorable children who they will be painting next week.

As part of my art curriculum for grade 8 I have incorporated the Memory project. This is a brilliant program created by Ben Schumaker where students work from photos of orphans to create a portrait which will then be given as a gift to the child.

Our students are very lucky to be here in Ghana as they have access to Beacon House so our students will be able to personally deliver their completed portraits. I am very excited about this project and can’t wait to see the final products.
